How does the system work?

A fundamental condition for the operation of the safety system is an onboard unit installed into the vehicle, which monitors the condition of the vehicle and maintains connection with the centre, as well as being able to differentiate normal use from alarm situations. Besides this, the system is continuously tracking the vehicle, even when there is no alarm situation.

When the vehicle starts up, the onboard unit of the iTrack system checks that the vehicle was started by an authorised person. The onboard unit of the vehicle (may) trigger an alarm when:

  • Pressing the panic button (the panic button is optional)

  • At the sound of the alarm

  • In case of inputting incorrect code several times or not entering a code. (code keyboard is optional)

In case of an alert, the unit silently informs the coordinator, who calls the specified number(s) and reports the alarm event. In this case the notified person identifies themselves to the coordinator by providing a password, as well as in the case of actual theft requests informing the police and/or the halting of the vehicle. If contacting the pre-defined persons on the specified telephone number is not successful, the vehicle will halt itself (following verbal warning).

In the case of an attempt to deactivate the onboard unit by radio interference, the unit can independently stop the vehicle (default set up is to stop) after several unsuccessful attempts to connect. This way the criminals cannot drive the vehicle to a suitable place to deactivate the onboard unit, which is continuously attempting to give out an alert. It is apparent that during an attempt to steal a vehicle protected by the iTrack system, the thief has many possibilities to make mistakes, thus the protection of the stolen vehicle is ensured in the best way possible.
